about cleanLIFE

THE ISSUE

reducing single use plastics

CleanLIFE founders Phil and Corey had a total lightbulb moment when they realised that everyday wet wipes, are made from polyester and polypropylene – commonly referred to as single-use plastics! They’d been using them on babies, cleaning surfaces, and even wiping their own faces, unaware that they were contributing to a growing plastic problem. Currently, almost 96% of wet wipes in Australia are imported and as a country, the number of wet wipes used each year is estimated to be greater than 15,000,000,000 (yes that number is 15 BILLION wet wipes!). It turns out, over 25,000 tonnes of these plastic-laden wipes end up in landfills every single year, breaking down into harmful microplastics that damage the environment.

THE VISION

making the change

Feeling frustrated by the lack of sustainable alternatives, Phil and Corey knew something had to change. So, they decided to take matters into their own hands. With a vision to reduce waste and protect the planet, they founded CleanLIFE – Australia’s innovative wet wipe company, with a wet wipe for every occcasion! Their mission was simple: to remove single-use plastics from everyday life, one wipe at a time.

By using eco-friendly plant based materials that are safe for both the environment and our bodies, and manufacturing the wet wipes right here in Australia, CleanLIFE is revolutionising the wet wipe industry, proving that it’s possible to live cleaner, greener, and more conscious lifestyle.

THE change

switch to plastic free

Making the switch to plastic-free wet wipes is a simple yet impactful way to reduce your environmental footprint. In Australia, nearly 96% of wet wipes are imported, contributing to an overwhelming 15 billion wet wipes used annually. The problem is that most of these wipes contain plastic, and over 25,000 tonnes of them end up in landfills each year, where they break down into harmful microplastics that contaminate our soil and waterways. By choosing plastic-free, biodegradable, Australian made CleanLIFE wet wipes, you’re actively helping to combat this growing issue. Switching to plastic-free wet wipes is not just a small personal change; it’s a powerful step toward protecting the environment for future generations.

frequently asked questions

are all of your biodegradable and compostable wipes, flushable?

no, whilst all of our wipes are plastic free and biodegradable, not all of our wipes are certified to the AS/NZS 5328 global mark standard. wipes that can be flushed have a certified to flush logo on the front of the pack + global mark stamp on the back.

how many flushable wipes can be used in any one flush?

refer to instructions and details on the pack of your wipes to confirm. much like toilet paper, there is a limit of how much can be flushed, and this applies to our flushable wipes.

how can i be sure that your wipes wont clog my toilet?

we have all heard of the 3Ps when it comes to flushing – Pee,
Poo, and Paper. But now there’s a 4th P: Proof! Our wipes are officially
certified to flush, meaning they’ve passed strict testing to meet the
Australian and New Zealand AS/NZS 5328 Standard for Flushable Products.

Plus, our whole process —from sourcing materials to manufacturing—has been independently checked. We’re the first company in the world to be Certified to Flush according to the standard! When you see our Certified to Flush symbol, you can confidently send our wipes down the toilet. If for some reason you can’t flush, no worries! You can simply pop them in the green bin. Just check the details on the back of the pack for more info.

why are you still using plastic packaging for your wipe packets?

unfortunately, technology is not available to be able to hold the moisture of our wipes in a totally plastic - free packet. we are always looking to alternatives to service this need.

how long does it take to break down your wet wipes?

our compostable wipes only take 180 days to break down and leave NO microplastics. our wipes can be placed in the compost or organics recycling bin.

what are CleanLIFE flushable wipes made from?

the material used to make a flushable wipe is wood pulp matter, this is the same material that is used to make toilet paper.

do your wipes contain chemicals and / or artificial fragances?

our wipes are free from chemicals and artificial fragrances. however, some of our products feature naturally derived scents from Australian-grown ingredients.
